How this page works

In short: This page adds the Discount Magic details to our main terms. Both apply.

This page is part of the Commit & Push terms of service and applies in addition to them when you use Discount Magic. Where this page is more specific, it applies to Discount Magic. Words defined in the main terms have the same meaning here.

What Discount Magic does

Discount Magic is a Shopify app that helps merchants create and manage discounts and discount codes in bulk. You can generate unique codes, limit discounts to particular customers, upload and export codes, sync codes to your own Klaviyo account, and see how your discounts perform. The discounts it creates are Shopify discounts: Shopify stores them and applies them at checkout.

Plans

Discount Magic has a free plan and a paid Pro plan. The current features, prices and any free trial are shown on the app’s Shopify App Store listing and in the app, and Shopify bills you as our main terms describe.

Your discounts

In short: Discount Magic creates discounts for you, but they are your discounts. Check and test each one in Shopify before customers can use it, and check it starts and ends when you meant it to.

  1. You set them up. You choose each discount’s type, value, the products and customers it applies to, usage limits, combinations with other discounts, start and end dates, and who receives its codes. You are responsible for those choices, and for making sure your discounts and promotions comply with the law and your own policies.
  2. You test them. You are responsible for testing every discount before you rely on it, independently of Discount Magic. That includes:
    1. checking the discount’s settings in your Shopify admin;
    2. trying it on your own store, for example by applying a code in a cart or placing a test order, to confirm it gives the value you intended, only to the products and customers you intended, and combines with other discounts only as you intended; and
    3. confirming in Shopify that it started and ended at the times you intended, and is active or inactive as you expect.
  3. You can do this without us. You can make all of these checks with the tools Shopify gives you, without Discount Magic. A test order can use up a discount’s usage limit or a customer’s one-use allowance, so consider using Shopify’s test payments, a draft order, or checking the cart total without completing checkout.
  4. Our checks are only a help. Any previews, summaries, warnings or confirmations in Discount Magic are there to help you. They don’t replace your own checks, and you should not rely on them alone.
  5. Changes after creation. Shopify, other apps and people with access to your store can change or deactivate a discount after Discount Magic creates it. Discount Magic may show those changes, but it can’t prevent them, and you remain responsible for checking what is live in your store.
  6. If something is wrong. If a discount isn’t working as you intended, deactivate it in Shopify or in the app straight away, then tell us. Our liability for losses that continue after you knew, or should have known, about a problem is excluded, as our main terms explain.
  7. Keeping codes safe. Discount codes work for anyone who has them. Keep codes confidential until you mean to share them, and use Shopify’s usage limits, customer eligibility and end dates to control how they can be used. We are not responsible for codes that are shared, leaked, guessed, combined or used fraudulently, unless that was caused by our failure to protect the app.
  8. Protecting your business. Make sure your own terms of sale let you cancel or refuse orders placed with a wrong discount, and decide whether to insure against losses from discounts or prices that are wrong, as our main terms explain.

Integrations

Klaviyo

If you connect your own Klaviyo account, Discount Magic sends Klaviyo the discount codes and coupon details you choose to sync. Your Klaviyo account and what you do with it are governed by your agreement with Klaviyo. Check that synced codes appear as you expect before you send them to customers. Disconnecting Klaviyo, or uninstalling the app, stops future syncing but doesn’t delete codes already in Klaviyo.

Data you can export

In short: You can export your codes in the app at any time. Ask us for anything else, free of charge.

Under our main terms, you can export your data free of charge. For Discount Magic, the data you can export is:

Data How to export it
Discount codes you generated or uploaded, with their discount and status In the app, as a CSV file
Discount and code batch settings you created in the app By email to contact@commitandpush.io, as JSON or CSV
Records of how your codes were used, held by the app By email to contact@commitandpush.io, as CSV
Your app settings, Klaviyo sync settings and activity history By email to contact@commitandpush.io, as JSON or CSV

When we send you an export, we include a description of each file’s fields and format, and of any known limits. For exports you make in the app, email us and we will send the same description. We will also publish these details on a help page.

The app also keeps copies of data it reads from your store, such as products, collections, customers, customer segments, orders and discounts. Shopify holds the originals, and you can export them from your Shopify admin at any time. We will also send our copies on request.

AI

Discount Magic works by fixed rules you set. It doesn’t currently use AI to make decisions or to create content. If we add an AI feature, the AI features clause in our main terms applies.
